Winslow’s La Posada

Mr. E and I took a vacation to New Mexico last week…and on the way I had some business at La Posada in Winslow.  Back in August, I began a business relationship with the manager there, who bought 9 pieces of my art work for the gift shop.
This time, he bought 17 pieces!

Of course, we stayed overnight, which meant dinner and breakfast at the Turquoise Room…our all-time favorite restaurant, hands down.

But first, we walked the spectacular grounds,

checked out this old Route 66 gas station that’s for sale,

and wandered around the rail yard.

We saw 19th century architecture…

as well as a more modernized version…

before returning to our room and enjoying a pre-dinner margarita on the balcony.

It just so happened that we were in the vicinity of La Posada around dinner time on our return trip, and both of us were excited to stop and enjoy more delicious food and the ambiance of 80 years of southwestern history.

If you ever get the chance, I totally recommend experiencing La Posada…a most joyous indulgence if there ever was one!
