Dia de los Muertos Prescott Style

On Sunday, Mr. E and I ventured downtown to the Old Smoki Pueblo to join in our local celebration of Dia de los Muertos.

There were beautiful altars,

cat altars,

and more altars,

awesome mariachi music,

a procession to a nearby cemetary

where we learned about an early Mexican immigrant that was buried there (portrayed by his decendent),

great costumes,

and the coolest cookies I’ve ever laid eyes on!
I’m hankering to lay something else on them…but will probably wait until the big day arrives.  They can adorn my altar for a few days…maybe…
