Show Low Haiku

Eighty four years old
Hip replacement…piece of cake
Warrior is she

My mom had hip replacement surgery two weeks ago.
My sister did the first shift for 8 days – bless her heart – and then I took over and spent 6 days with my mom in Show Low, Arizona.  She totally amazed me and gained my profound respect…plus we had a lot of fun together!

My dad and I also fit in a little art prep together, thus my second haiku:

Labor in the shop
Always working with our hands
Consummate duo

We cut out a bunch of metal,

some wooden plaques,

and several small hearts.

It was so great to have real quality time with both of them!
Love you, mom and dad!
