Shattered Hearts

Mary stands vigil
to our collective shock, anguish, mourning,
the innocence lost,
the senselessness of this most random atrocity

A friend, who had just lost a loved one, once said to me, “The only ointment for my rawness is time…”

Perhaps compassion, faith, and LOVE could somehow comfort our shattered hearts, as well…

My candles are lit, tears continue to flow, my heart grieves ever so vehemently for those we lost, their families and friends, the survivors, the first responders, the school, the community, the nation…humankind

If we could all try to do something good…a smile, assistance, simple compassion,  donations of time or goods, thinking of others…anything that will make the world a better place…
and allow goodness to win over evil.

One Response to “Shattered Hearts”

  1. Grieving and send love with you, Dawn. The heart aches; Her gentle hand soothes.
