Packing for Mexico!

After a year of great anticipation,
the mosaic workshop in Puerto Vallarta is finally upon us.
The temperatures are nearly 90*
so it’s virtually summer south of the border…
and that obviously means exotic margaritas,
among other things.

Now, the big question always is…what to pack?
My journey into insanity so begins.

I decided on four skirts…

but then,
what about these beauties?

Sasabee and I picked out some favorite tops…

IMG_7720

but hey…
these work well, too!

Of course, there are the tunics in the mix…
but am I taking enough of my infamous staples?

IMG_7717

And every full-blooded woman needs a couple of pairs of basic jeans, yes?

IMG_7719

But these are way more edgy and fun, no?

Then, there’s the practical footwear…

IMG_7736

yet, I really want to wear zippy, not-necessarily-impractical sandals!
(How’s about those cool new insoles, huh?  Shazam!)

AND then there are wraps…

AND
the undies,
tanks,
bras,
slips,
leggings,
swimsuit,
cover-up,
rash guard,
socks,
lounge wear,
and pj’s…

IMG_7722

AND work clothes,
like my gifted Virgin of Guadalupe apron…
and so it goes in my world.

Luckily,
after several hours and the help of a girlfriend,
I have a few summery outfits figured out.

Oh,  $#)(&%@?!!!
Did I mention that I have to take the dress aperture and all my mosaic supplies?
And seriously, there are
way…more…heavy…glass…tiles…
to go!

My verdict is that
PACKING*IS*A*NIGHTMARE,
but going to Mexico/the ocean/a mosaic workshop/on vacation
with my dear Sallie is a profound and joyous blessing!

Viva Margaritas!

…must get back to packing…

  1. You guys are going to have a blast! Good luck packing. Maybe you can ship a container of clothing down in advance? laugh.

  2. So – how many cases are you taking?! Seriously, you have a LOT to choose from here (I know, I can talk, right?) but seeing your wardrobe all laid out is a joy, so much colour and print and prettiness and detail, pieces that work together and stand alone, you’ve got great style.
Hope you are sorted now, and ready to enjoy the experience! xxx

  3. I know one thing for sure… You’ll be lõõking gõõd señorita! Have a great time & be safe!

  4. Ooh, your trip sounds lovely and all your outfits and separates look just perfect for Mexico. But I do know that packing is tough – a real pain, actually (if only a packing genie would rise out of the suitcase and do it for us). I went to Paris for a mere two days and it took me a long time to figure out what to bring! Enjoy!
